What Do Wedding Planners Love the Most?

Recently, I met with a luxury wedding planner. She revealed to me that her favorite wedding services are both photography and cinematography. (Please see our first blog on the difference between videography and cinematography. It’s huge!). The reason she gave for loving these two services the most is because you will enjoy them forever. Even your children and grandchildren will enjoy looking at them. Over the years, the wedding album will be continually flipped through, and the highlight video will be watched again and again. This is so true! She pointed out that the food will be eaten and the flowers will wither away, but the photos and video will live on forever!

While photography is more often than not a part of the wedding day, cinematography is often overlooked and not thought of as essential. For those who have opted to have photography without cinematography, they often regret not doing both as they compliment each other. Wedding photography is very different from wedding cinematography. The wedding album is filled with posed photos of family members and the wedding party, but the candid moments are lost forever and never seen if wedding cinematography is left out of the wedding festivities mix. A wedding video allows you to relive your most treasured moments again and again in real time. The look on your father’s face as he walks you down the aisle, or the emotional toast that a loved one makes for you at the reception; these are priceless moments worth seeing in their entirety and cannot always be captured in a single photograph.

The main objection that is often heard is that wedding cinematography is not a part of the wedding budget. This is especially true at Thousand Hills Creations, where we provide the affordable option to customize a personalized package to fit your exact individual needs. Many are surprised that a wedding video is not as expensive as they believe it will be. When the lifelong memory is weighed out against the cost, then it makes perfect sense to hire a professional wedding cinematographer.

Recently, we filmed a wedding in Birmingham, Alabama where the bride didn’t think she wanted a video of her wedding, but her mother was insistent that they hire us to capture the beautiful day. A real testimony to the value of this treasured highlight video is that, in the end, the bride was so grateful that they had chosen to have a cinematographer at their wedding to capture all the special moments. Her review she left for us says it all:

“My husband and I got married in March and we are so grateful for the video Kirsten and Jody made of our wedding day… They were able to capture so many special moments of all of the behind the scenes, as well as our ceremony and reception! We are forever grateful to have our wedding captured on video. The day itself was such a blur, so having a video “diary” of it is priceless! They were able to capture the audio of our vows and overlaid it on the video - this was one of our favorite parts! We would recommend Thousand Hills Creations to anyone!”

The memory that is captured through video is priceless. And the highlight video can be shared on social media for family and friends who were not able to make it to the wedding to see and feel the atmosphere of your wedding day. At Thousand Hills Creations, we like to say, “No regrets. Just happy memories from Thousand Hills Creations.” So don’t have the common regret of not hiring a professional wedding cinematography team. Call today. You will be so happy that you did.
